Dopey here...I can't believe I'm crazy enough to perform SOLO, but that is what I'll be doing tonight 11/21/08 at the Turning Point Cafe in Piermont NY. I'm opening for Willie Nile and Jimmy Vivino (from the Max Weinberg 7). Check back here for pictures of the event.

The two tracks are "Life's Harsh Reality" which was recorded live in Newport Rhode Island and "Girl in the pizza store window" from Dopey's solo act "Dopey Lopes". Both tracks are produced by Rob George and Stumpy for Dopey Lopes Music and 421 Records.

Hey everyone...TGAAG just played in Newport last Saturday 7/26. There will be a few pictures posted shortly. The band is now working on some new recordings. A Box set is in the works that will compile some of the band's early recordings, along with new material. The early recordings from "Bite The Wax Tadpole" and "Folk Songs Played Fast" will be re-mastered and re-mixed to bring them up to today's standards. I'm in the process of recovering any masters out there and will be leading the project along with the Dopey Lopes production team and Geo Sullivan. We are hoping to work with 75orLess records once we compile the sessions to release the set. Stay tuned for more...Next show is in the works for Fall 08.

Just a brief announcement that I'm performing at the Turning Point in Piermont NY on 11/21/08. The 30 minute slot is opening for Willie Nile. More details once it is listed on their site...

Most of you already know that Dopey was one of the founding members of "Two Guys and Another Guy"-the seminal punk rock band that originated in the Newport/Providence scenes back in the late 1980's. This great act featured former Throwing Muse Fred Abong, Motormag and Backwash/Mother Jefferson alumi Jon Jones, along with Backwash/Mother Jefferson alumi and long time scenester George Sullivan. The band re-united for "Rockin' New Years Eve - 07" at Jimmy's Saloon in Newport on 12/31/07. Since that time they have played a handful of select gigs including the Neutral Nation re-union gig at Club Hell in Providence RI. The band enjoyed these gig's so much that they recently decided to continue to perform as "Two Guys and Another Guy". There is a new song in the works called "It Don't Add Up" which will be recorded soon. Also, two recent concerts were recorded using the 421 mobile unit and will be released as a live concert recording soon. Check back here, since the band will only communicate through this outlet!

PS...Look for some really EXCITING stuff right away in 06...filming for Dopey's Biopic will include a trip to New York City with Luthier Gil Diaz, including a meeting with Les Paul! Also, a CD release will accompany the DVD. Look for a February/March booking to be announced after the 1st.

Hey, Dopey here...I want to wish Sir RVG a speedy recovery, and let all my fans and friends know about the Dopey Lopes biopic currently being filmed by acclaimed cinematographer Rob George. It is slated for spring 06 completion. It will be a reality style look at the antics and performance of Dopey Lopes. Stay tuned for news right here...

Hi Rockers...The show for December 2nd in Newport RI now will be Dopey Lopes, Neutral Nation and the Suicide Liquors. These three bands have been wanting to do a gig together for some time so here it is!! TGAAG is rescheduled for either New Years Eve (if possible) or early next year (2006). Dopey Lopes is scheduled to appear at the highly regarded Leibowski Fest in NYC this Friday 10/21. He will be credentialed as the Photographer for Herbal Nation.

David Lopes has just been notified via mail by the Popular Awards Panel that he is a 2005 ASCAPLUS Award Recipient. This is his 6th award since becoming an ASCAP member in 1997.
