Dopey Lopes: Dopey's Bio

DAVID LOPES a/k/a Dopey Lopes is a contemporary Songwriter and Performer based in New York City who has been pursuing his craft since 1987. During that time he has performed with such notable acts as "Cypress Hill", "The Meat Puppets", "Miracle Legion", "The Dead Milkmen", "The Neighborhoods", "Willie Nile", and "Neutral Nation" among numerous others. In the late 1980's he founded "Two Guys and Another Guy" the legendary RI Punk band that influenced bands from L-7 to the Throwing Muses to Belly plus countless other local and regional acts. TGAAG recently re-united and will be issuing upcoming releases including a live concert recording and some new material. Both with TGAAG and on his own as Dopey Lopes, music and live performances have long captured the respect of both listener and fellow musician. His new material with Two Guys and Another Guy promises to be exciting. An ASCAP member since 1997, Mr. Lopes is proud to be an 8 time recipient of the organization's "ASCAPLUS" award, recognizing his artistry as a Songwriter.
